Millions of Americans are expected to benefit from President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” which includes a temporary tax break allowing workers in certain jobs to avoid paying federal income tax on tips.

The Trump administration was required to produce a list of affected professions within 90 days of the bill — officially called the One Big Beautiful Bill Act — being signed into law on July 4.

The list will only be officially confirmed once it is published in the Federal Register, although the Treasury Department has said it expects the final version to match the one shown below.

Occupations affected by tax break and illustrative examples

Here are the eligible occupation titles, along with “illustrative examples” of specific jobs that fall under each title.

How much could the “big, beautiful bill” save workers?

According to the White House, some tipped workers could save up to $1,300 from the tax break. Others may see little benefit, either because of legal restrictions or because certain jobs on the list rarely bring in tips.
