The World Economic Forum (WEF) has come out with its list of the best countries to consider as travel and tourism destinations in 2024, based on factors such as infrastructure, national resources, sustainability, and pricing.

The list does not take into account actual experiences of travelers and tourists.

Where does the US rank among the best countries for tourism?

According to the World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism Development Index, the best-placed country for travel and tourism in 2024 is the United States.

The WEF says the U.S. has a well-developed tourism market, and already has systems in place that would assure a smooth traveling experience for visitors, such as tour guides and services like rental cars and hotel accommodations.

The United States’ size also contributed to its high ranking, as it has a wide variety of sites to offer, ranging from natural attractions such as beaches and national parks, to urban experiences.

One negative aspect mentioned about the country is the possibility that there will be a shortage of workers in the tourism field. The dearth of personnel in the industry was caused in large part by the pandemic, which pushed a lot of employees to seek employment in other sectors.
