San Francisco is a city that boasts several neighborhoods with significant population of LGBTQ residents that will hold events for Pride 2024.
The City by the Bay is a mecca for the LGBTQ community thanks to San Francisco’s embrace of diversity. It has several neighborhoods that boast of significant LGBTQ populations which will be holding events throughout June for Pride 2024.
Those celebrations under this year’s theme “Beacon of Love” will culminate in the main event on Sunday 30 June with the Pride parade along Market Street and the festivities throughout the day.
What are the main neighborhoods in San Francisco where LGBTIQA+ Pride 2024 will be held?
The center of Pride 2024 celebrations is located near some of the best known LGBTQ neighborhoods including Bernal Heights, Castro, Haight-Ashbury, Mission and SoMa (South of Market).
The main events for San Francisco Pride 2024 will be taking place on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June. A series of concerts and performances will be held in the central district of Civic Center & Hayes Valley just west of Downtown where the Pride parade will finish. The parade itself will get underway at 10:30 am on Sunday 30 June starting at Market & Beale, in the Financial District, and ending at Market & 8th St, a block from the Civic center Plaza.
This year’s Celebrity Grand Marshal will be acclaimed actor and singer Billy Porter who will also be the headliner for 2024 SF Pride. The two-time Tony Award winner, who has also won an Emmy and a Grammy, will be performing on the Kaiser Permanente Main Stage on Sunday 30 June.
For those that won’t be able to join the festivities in person, the Bay Area ABC7 channel will be broadcasting and streaming the parade live.
