The Cannes Film Festival will take this week, and the largest figures from the international film industry will descend on the French town. The festival will run through 27 May 2023.

But can anyone go to the festival, or does one need to be invited? Well, according to Cannes Guide, the majority of attendees are industry professionals and the media, with “entry to official venues is tightly controlled.” Strict attendance policies are in place to protect guests, but there are still ways for the public to get involved in the festivities.

How much do tickets cost?

There are a few different tickets that can be purchased for the event, which range in price from $3,000 to more than $12,000.

These prices come directly from Cornucopia Events:

  • Film Pass: £3,000 per person
  • Closing Ceremony: £3,500 (Balcony), £4,800 (Corbeille), and £5,450 (Orchestra)
  • Official Film Festival Badge Credentials: £5,400 per person

Can I get tickets to a screening?

If you are a movie lover and find yourself in Cannes this week, there are a few ways members of the public can participate... but you will need to act fast!

The festival hosts a few Cinéma de la Plage (Cinema on the Beach) events, which operate “on a first come, first serve basis.” Additionally, tickets for the Director’s Fortnight, which forms a unique part of the festival and involves the screening of a select number of films, can be obtained by the public.
