When will CDK Global be available? The company’s notice of the possible date to restore service
CDK Global has issued a statement on the resumption of services for IT systems at car dealerships after a cyber attack left them unable to operate.
A few days ago, a cyber attack on CDK Global led car dealerships across the United States to cease operations. One day after the incident, the company reported that it had suffered another attack on its systems, forcing it to shut down its operations again.
A statement from the data technology company says they are still working on resolving the effects of the cyber attack.
According to automotive insider Car Dealership Guy, CDK Global has announced the car dealerships’ systems will likely not be available for “several days.”

CDK Global: ‘No estimated time frame for resolution’
The statement posted on Car Dealership Guy’s account on X (formerly Twitter) says that CDK pledges to continue to provide updates related to the event as they try to recover from the attack.
“At this time, we do not have an estimated time frame for resolution and therefore our dealers’ systems will not be available for several days,” says the statement.
The statement also says they have created a Dealer Resource Center to help car dealerships function as they try to recover their applications.

CDK suffers two cyber attacks
On Wednesday, a massive cyberattack on CDK Global led car dealerships across the United States to pause their operations after they lost access to the system that facilitates vehicle sales.
The company’s website states that its software is being used by over 15,000 car dealerships across the country, highlighting the scale of the attack and how it has brought the sector to a halt in minutes.
Just one day after the initial attack, another one forced the company to shut down its systems once again. The company, which sells various products to car dealerships to facilitate sales and manage clients, informed customers on Thursday morning that they were attacked once again.
The situation has become critical for the company and the customers who use their products, and the second attack has postponed any plans to bring the systems back online, limiting the operations of dealerships across the country.

CDK to pay off cyber attackers
A Fortune report says the group that claims to have attacked CDK Global has demanded tens of millions of dollars in ransom, according to their source, who asked not to be identified because the information is confidential.
The source said CDK is planning to make the payment to the cyber criminals believed to be based in eastern Europe.
CDK is warning its customers to beware of bad actors who are attempting to take advantage of the confusion by contacting them to get system access. They urge their clients to communicate only with known official CDK Global employees.
