Patriots owner Robert Kraft and top ophthalmologist Dr Dana Blumberg, who have been dating since 2019, tied the knot on Friday at the Hall des Lumières in New York City. The couple lured a star-studded group of around 250 people to what they thought was a “Kickoff and a Touchdown” party.

The whole soirée was reportedly thrown together in just a matter of weeks in order to take advantage of an offer from long-time friend Elton John to play for them as a wedding gift. They had planned to quietly elope, but the legendary singer’s offer prompted them to go for a celebrity-filled gala instead.

The date for the wedding was set to coincide with the only one that John had available. The magnate and his bride bought out five days’ worth of shows at the venue to transform the former Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank for celebration into “a beautiful home and a warm environment,” as one insider told Page Six.

Celebrities galore at Kraft-Blumberg wedding

The reception for the newlyweds was a who’s who of the worlds of business, culture and football. Unsurprisingly, Tom Brady, who led the Patriots to six Superbowl wins, was present at the festivities. However, spies for Page Six said that he came alone. He and estranged wife Gisele Bündchen have reportedly hired divorce lawyers.

Other former Patriots players included former quarterback Drew Bledsoe and wide receiver Randy Moss. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver were also on hand to celebrate the new milestone with the couple along with Kraft’s sons.

Elton John good to his word played an hour-long show and got help from one of the guests, Ed Sheeran. The two sung a duet of “Candle in the Wind.” Sheeran didn’t stop there, he played and acoustic number while Kraft and Blumberg danced their first dance. And he also sang backup for Meek Mill who sang a song he wrote for the couple. According to a guest, country singer Kenny Chesney and rocker Jon Bon Jovi attended. Before the shindig turned into a dance party Grandmaster Flash DJ’d for an hour.

From the business world Ari Emanuel, Mary Erdoes, Brian Grazer, Ken Langone, Shari Redstone, Michael Rubin and girlfriend Camille Fishel, Stephen Schwarzman,Casey Wasserman, Lally Weymouth and David Zaslav were also spotted at the party.
