Will the mail and packages be delivered on Easter? Amazon, USPS, UPS, FedEx

Are you expecting a package to arrive this Easter? Depending on who is delivering it, the parcel might not be on your doorstep until after the holiday.

Update:
Other than the Easter Bunny, here’s who delivers on Easter

The most important period on the Christian calendar is Holy Week, a seven-day observance of the final days of Jesus Christ culminating with Easter Sunday that commemorates his resurrection. While the faithful will be participating in celebrations over the week, as it is a religious holiday and not a federal holiday, delivery services will be operating more or less as they normally do.

However, there may be some services, like those at FedEx, which will have some operations modified. Here’s a look.

Will the mail and packages be delivered on Easter? Amazon, USPS, UPS, FedEx,

Good Friday and Easter Sunday are not listed as federal holidays so operations will be working as normal at the US Postal Service. That means USPS delivers will arrive on Friday and Saturday like any other week, but not on Sunday.

While Amazon will continue working on Easter Sunday, shipments that rely on USPS delivery will not go out on Easter Sunday. However, the company’s own drivers will still be dropping off packages at your doorstep.

Walmart is offering some special Walmart-curated meals as well as an “Easter basket full of goodies” for the holiday through 31 March. Customers can order them and use the retailers same-day delivery or curbside pick-up and the retailer will be open on Easter Sunday.

Like the US Postal Service, UPS does not make deliveries on Sundays except via its Express Critical service, which also comes with a heftier price tag. This will also be the case for Easter Sunday. If you need to visit one of the UPS stores, only certain locations will be open. You should check with your location before setting off.

FedEx will be modifying its express service, affecting “early on-call and drop box pickups in some areas,” for Good Friday, 29 March, as well as its freight service. The company advises customers to contact your local FedEx Office location for details. Home delivery and offices will be operating as normal.

FedEx Express will be operating normally on Saturday along with home delivery. Offices will have modified hours, with some locations closing early, and freight will be closed on Saturday.

Easter Sunday will see all services closed, so no packages will be delivered, with the exception of Custom Critical services and FedEx Trade Networks. Office hours will be modified, with some locations closed. Monday 1 April, FedEx will be back to business as usual.
