Ernie Whitt is heading a Team Canada roster that brings some of baseball’s biggest hitters and slipperiest pitchers to bear on the WBC. Team Canada brings a wealth of experience to the competition, with Whitt being the only person to have managed at all five WBCs. On top of that, 22 players have represented Canada at previous international competitions, so you know that the moment will not be too big for them.

Team Canada find themselves in a tough group, sitting in Pool C with Colombia, Great Britain, Mexico, and the United States. They will have two warm-up games against the Chicago Cubs on March 8th in Mesa, and the Seattle Mariners in Peoria on March 9th, before the competition gets into full swing. With the power in their bats courtesy of Freeman, Toro, and Lopez, the Canadians will make every game a fight to the last pitch.
