Bellinger’s free-agency chase takes a surprising West Coast turn: Yankees? Dodgers?

The Yankees want to keep him, but renewed interest from Los Angeles has shifted the race for one of the offseason’s most intriguing free agents.

Brian Cashman, gerente de los NYY, mencionó que el pelotero de 29 años quería llegar de cualquier manera a los Bombarderos del Bronx.

Estados Unidos Update:

Cody Bellinger remains on the market as he waits to negotiate a new Major League Baseball contract, and while the New York Yankees have made clear they want to keep the 30-year-old, the situation is shifting.

In his lone season with the Bronx Bombers, Bellinger hit .272/.334/.480 with 29 home runs, 98 RBIs and 4.9 fWAR across 152 games in 2025.

But reports now suggest the Los Angeles Dodgers are interested in bringing him back. He spent six years with the California club between 2017 and 2022, winning the National League MVP in 2019, the NL Rookie of the Year in 2017, a World Series title in 2020, a Silver Slugger in 2019, a Gold Glove in 2019 and earning two All-Star selections (2017 and 2019).

“Cody had an incredible experience there,” said his agent, Scott Boras, when asked whether Bellinger would be open to returning to Los Angeles.

The Dodgers are looking to overhaul their outfield with Bellinger or fellow free agent Kyle Tucker, while currently carrying Teoscar Hernández, Tommy Edman and Andy Pages.
