MLB returns to Mexico in 2026: Which teams are playing in the Mexico City Series?
After a year’s absence, Major League Baseball will return to Mexico for a regular season series in 2026.
Major League Baseball announced Wednesday that it will return to Mexico for the 2026 season.
The Mexico City Series will return to Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium, home of the Mexican League’s Diablos Rojos del México, after missing the 2025 season. The San Diego Padres will headline the series for the second time, as they did in 2023, taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The games are scheduled for Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. The series marks the third time MLB has played regular season games in Mexico City. In previous visits the Padres and Houston Astros swept their series against the San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies, respectively.

We are excited to play once again at beautiful Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú in front of passionate Mexican baseball fans and our faithful fans who will join us on the journey to this world-class city and ballpark.”
Tickets will be sold through Ticketmaster, with general public sales beginning Monday, January 19. Pricing and seating details will be announced later via official ticketing, stadium and MLB Spanish-language channels.
