MLB: Who are the American and National League finalists for Rookie of the Year?
Corbin Carroll and Orioles shortstop/third baseman Gunnar Henderson are in the running for the Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award.
The BBWAA will soon honor the top rookies of 2023. Past winners of the award include legends Frank Robinson, Tom Seaver, Willie Mays, Cal Ripken Jr. and Ichiro Suzuki.
The favorites this year are Corbin Carroll and Orioles shortstop/third baseman Gunnar Henderson.
The other finalists include the Guardians’ Tanner Bibee and the Red Sox’s Triston Casas in the AL, as well as the Dodgers’ James Outman and the Mets’ Kodai Senga in the NL.
Rookie of the Year Awards
American League
Tanner Bibee (Guardians), Triston Casas (Red Sox) and Gunnar Henderson (Orioles) are the finalists for the AL Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award.
The winner will be announced live on MLB Network at 6 p.m. ET on 13 November.
National League
Corbin Carroll (D-backs), James Outman (Dodgers) and Kodai Senga (Mets) are the finalists for the NL Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award.
As a rookie, Carroll hit some big numbers this year: his 25 homers and 54 stolen bases accounted for the first 20-50 campaign by a rookie in MLB history. He is the first player, rookie or otherwise, to reach those marks with double-digit triples.
The winner will be announced live on MLB Network at 6 p.m. ET on 13 November.
