Update:

A humbling 21-0 loss at the hands of the San Diego Padres over the weekend was the final straw as manager Bud Black and bench coach Mike Redmond were both fired from the Rockies.

The 2025 season is proving one that Colorado Rockies fans will want to forget with the team having only managed to record seven wins from their opening 40 games in the current campaign.

“Our play so far this season, especially coming off the last two seasons, has been unacceptable,” Rockies owner Dick Monfort said in a statement. “Our fans deserve better, and we are capable of better.

“While we all share responsibility in how this season has played out, these changes are necessary.”

Third base coach Warren Schaeffer has been named interim manager for the remainder of the season with hitting coach Clint Hurdle named interim bench coach.

The Rockies now head to head Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to open a three-game interleague series with Texas Rangers desperate for an upturn in fortunes.
