Update:

The 2025 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays may go down as one of the most entertaining in living memory.

A roller-coaster ride from start to finish, suspense over which team would come out on top lasted until the very end. Toronto’s Addison Barger hit a pinch-hit grand slam in Game 1, the first in World Series history. Game 3 was the second-longest ever in the championship series. The Blue Jays’ Trey Yesavage broke a host of rookie records in Game 5.

When Toronto led 4-3 at the top of the ninth inning in Game 7, they had a 91.7% chance of winning, according to ESPN Insights, but still lost. The list of dramatic moments goes on.

Celebrities praise an unforgettable finale

Game 7, and the series overall, captured the attention of fans around the world, with celebrities taking to social media to praise the show both teams put on.

Several NBA stars switched over to baseball for the biggest event of the season.

LeBron James and Lakers teammate Luka Doncic were once again in sync, both using the phrase “What a game!” in posts on X.

Caitlin Clark went even further, calling Game 7 “the best baseball game I’ve ever seen.

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle was similarly impressed, writing, “Best World Series I’ve seen in a minute.”

NFL stars join the conversation

A number of big names from the NFL also shared their admiration for what they were watching.

You could not script the insanity of this game,” wrote former Texans defensive end J.J. Watt.

Ex-Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III couldn’t believe what he was seeing either, tweeting, “This World Series GAME 7 is OUT OF ITS MIND.”

Former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee admitted he had been completely drawn in by the action, first posting, “Baseball’s super exhilarating now… crazy to type… crazy to feel,” before simply adding, “Baseball has been awesome.”

Tone Digz, who appears on “The Pat McAfee Show,” even suggested he had enjoyed watching baseball more than football since the start of the World Series. “If we’re being honest… which we always are… this World Series has dominated football the last two weeks.”

A fitting conclusion to a classic series

Final word goes to 1983 MVP Joe Theismann, who summed up how most of us were feeling in three simple words: “Unbelievable World Series.”
