Who is New York Yankee star Aaron Judge’s wife, Samantha Bracksieck?
Though their relationship remains largely private, it’s clear that MLB’s home run king knows who was central in his quest to make history.
As the saying goes, “Behind every great man is a great woman.” Yet, Yankees star Aaron Judge will likely tell you that his wife was beside him each step of the way, in his march to MLB hom erun history. And while the player is preparing for the 2024 World Series battle against the Dodgers, we thought we’d reflect on his other half.
Aaron Judge’s wife’s role in his success
If there’s one fan who has watched each and every step of Judge’s journey to MLB home run history, it was his wife, Samantha Bracksieck. To date, the couple have made great efforts to keep their relationship private, though Bracksieck is more or less a fixture at Judge’s games alongside his parents in the stands. Indeed, they have often been seen embracing each other post game. That being said, Judge himself disclosed a rather interesting tidbit about the lady in his life, in that she’s not been bothered by the hype of his historic home run race. Not one bit.
“My wife has been with me through it all and she’s calm as a cucumber, that’s for sure,” Judge said when he had tied Roger Maris’ long standing record which stood since 1961. With that said, the question that remains is obviously, ‘who is Samantha Bracksieck?’ Let’s find out.
High school sweethearts: Aaron Judge & Samantha Bracksieck
It was while attending Linden High School in Linden, California, that Bracksieck and Judge met. At the time, Judge was playing three sports at the school - football, basketball and baseball - before finally graduating in 2010. As fate would have it, the pair would go on to study at Fresno State University in California.
Bracksieck, who studied kinesiology would actually be honored in 2017 for an outstanding master’s thesis in kinesiology. Her award-winning project, titled “Posterior Elbow Angle During the Movement Phase of Throwing in Relation to the Susceptibility of UCL Injury in Major League Baseball Players,” examined elbow ligament injuries in Major League Baseball. Sounds like ‘insider info’ to us.
How long have Judge and Bracksieck been together?
As mentioned above, the two have certainly known each other since high school days, however, when it comes to how long they’ve been a couple, despite their best efforts to keep their relationship off of social media, we can say that Bracksieck first appeared on Judge’s Instagram account in November 2014.
At the time, the Yankees star posted a photo collage which included Judge’s parents, participating in a Thanksgiving Day 5K run together. The caption which accompanied the photo read, “Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and always be grateful for what you have! #GodBless #5k.” Aside from that, there has been little else to be seen of Bracksieck on Judge’s social media.
When did Judge and Bracksieck get married?
According to reports, Judge and Bracksieck were married in a private ceremony in Maui, Hawaii, on December 13th, 2021. As per reports, the couple were photographed exchanging their vows against the backdrop of the flora and fauna of the Montage Kapalua Bay Resort. Bracksieck herself could be seen in a form-fitting gown and long veil, while Judge sported a classic black tuxedo.
Interestingly, the couple never actually announced their engagement, yet several of Judge’s Yankees teammates could be seen in attendance, including Gary Sanchez, Luis Cessa and Gleyber Torres.
A couple that gives together: Judge and Bracksieck joined in charity
One commendable thing about Judge and Bracksieck, has certainly got to be their charity work which incidentally, they do together. In November 2019, the couple returned to the Fresno area, where they visited young cancer patients at Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera County, California. As per reports, the couple could be seen laughing and joking with patients in what was surely a happy moment for all involved.
It is understood, that the hospital visit was part of Judge’s work with his foundation, ALL RISE. The mission of Judge’s organization - started in 2018 - is to inspire children and teens to become responsible citizens through leadership programs, grants, baseball camps and more.
