Anthony Davis provides injury update and potential return
The Dallas Mavericks' newest addition got off to a disappointing start after suffering an injury in his first game, but he’s given an optimistic update.

The Dallas Mavericks made the blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis last month, trading away star player Luka Doncic. For all the criticism that trade brought, the Mavs haven’t had a chance to prove the critics wrong as Davis got injured in his debut game with the team.
On Sunday, Davis provided some optimistic news about his injury though, giving the Mavs some hope.
Anthony Davis shares injury update
Davis suffered a left adductor strain on February 8 against the Houston Rockets. On Sunday, March 2, after the Mavs suffered a rough 132-117 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Davis provided a positive update.
“We’re gonna keep pushing, we’re gonna keep working every single day, staying afloat,” said Davis. “As soon as I get back on the floor, I’m going to bring that same energy I brought in the first game that I played.”

Before Davis was injured, he’d put up 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks, providing hope that he’ll indeed be an impactful player on the court once he’s back to full health. It’s been nearly four weeks since the injury and on Thursday, he’ll undergo another evaluation.
The Mavs are currently 10th in the Western Conference at 32-29, tied with the Sacramento Kings and just a half game behind the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves. Tonight, they face the Kings at home at the American Airlines Center.
