The NBA Finals comes to its grand finale tonight and it’s starting off strong with the national anthem performed by this Hollywood star.

The 2025 NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers has been a thrilling back-and-forth series, now headed to a decisive Game 7. As the series returns to Oklahoma City for the final showdown, the Thunder are eyeing their first title since relocating from Seattle, while the Pacers hope to capture the first NBA championship in franchise history.
A game with such high stakes deserves a strong start. Ahead of the game, the national anthem will be sung, and one Hollywood star has teased she may be the one to sing it.
Kristin Chenoweth to perform national anthem at NBA Finals Game 7
In the early hours of the morning on Sunday, actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth posted a video to social media teasing that she will be the singer for the national anthem.
“Hey everybody! Kristin Chenoweth here, and I’m in Oklahoma City,” she said, lowering her head to reveal a Thunder cap. “Wonder why...I guess I should start warming up,” she said, clearing her throat and doing a quick vocal exercise.

From her standout Broadway debut in Charlie Brown to playing the original Glinda in Wicked (earning a Tony nomination and a Grammy-winning cast album), chart-topping albums, and performances at world-renowned venues, Chenoweth’s vocal range and theatrical impact are undeniable. She’s also earned an Emmy for her television singing roles, solidifying her as one of the few performers to excel across Broadway, concerts, and TV.
She also happens to be a devout Oklahoma City fan. She proudly boasts their gear and even named her rescue dog Thunder, in honor of the team.
