Mavs fans fume at Davis trade deal
Anthony Davis arrived from the LA Galaxy in one of the most high-profile trades in recent years.

The Dallas Mavericks' new hero, Anthony Davis, is a feature on the most recent injury list published by the side ahead of their crucial NBA league game against the Houston Rockets. However, it is not set to stop him from making his first appearance as their newest star.
Davis joined the Mavericks in a sensational trade that saw Luka Doncic go the other way, joining LeBron James and co. in California.
And while the ten-time NBA All-Star is listed as having an abdominal issue, suffered during the Lakers' 118-104 defeat to the 76ers, which could well have prevented him from taking to the court, the player himself confirmed that he will feature in the game.

‘I’m going to give the city life back'
On the move, Davis said that he understands the frustration of the Mavs losing their star. “It’s a business”, said Davis. “I get who Luka was to this franchise & this city. I’m never going to downplay that, just how I know what I meant to the city of LA. I’m not surprised by the fan reaction and city’s reaction.”
“It’s my job to come in and play basketball and do what I’m supposed to do: give the fans hope and assurance on who I am. I don’t know how tomorrow’s going to be as far as the reaction. I can’t control that.
“At the end of the day, I’m going to give the city life back. Obviously, it’s a tough transition. It’s a shock to all. My job is to come in and play basketball and win basketball games.”
Anthony Davis says that he ‘understands’ this fan base’s emotions and he understands what Luka Doncic meant for Dallas Mavericks basketball.
