Despite all of the trade speculations that have circulated this offseason, it appears as though the relationship between Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers is proceeding without a hitch. In fact, Darvin Ham is pleased with how the dynamic guard has integrated themselves into the club.

No trade in the future for Westbrook

After practice on Tuesday, Ham met with the media to discuss the day’s events and stated his opinion that the fact that things have been clarified with Westbrook openly has been advantageous to the team’s current status. They have also communicated incredibly well, which is a positive sign for their preparations for the forthcoming campaign considering it should only bode well for them.

At least from the outside, it would appear that the Lakers have conquered the problem that they were having with Russell Westbrook.

Russell impressing the coach

Even when Darvin Ham expressed his admiration for Russell Westbrook in the past, there was no end to the speculation that he would be traded away. Following the acquisition of Patrick Beverley, there is widespread speculation that the Purple and Gold are planning to trade Russ in the near future.

However, things are considerably different now, to the point that Ham is openly talking about his hopes to play Westbrook and Beverley together.

It’s possible that Ham is just giving his opinion based on the circumstances at hand and nothing more, refusing to provide any indication of what the future may hold. In spite of this, it appears as though the Lakers are prepared to keep Westbrook for the remainder of the season
