Update:

After going down in pain during the game against the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers have provided an update on the fitness of their star player, LeBron James.

The 40-year-old crashed on the court midway through the first quarter against Steph Curry’s side, writhing in pain for a few moments to the dismay of the fans.

The game was eventually paused as medical staff were granted access onto the field of play to tend to the star, who was eventually able to carry on. Despite his efforts that saw him finish with 33 points, five rebounds, and eight assists on a 10-for-15 shooting line, the Lakers ended up losing the tie 123-116.

Is LeBron James injured?

James is listed as ‘probable’ on the Los Angeles Lakers official injury report, a list of physical issues that every team is required to submit before each game.

The injury in question, it turns out, has nothing to do with James’ fall during the game against the Warriors. Instead, the Lakers have revealed that he is still getting over a groin issue sustained on March 8.

As of April 6, LeBron James is averaging 24.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game in the 2024-2025 NBA season. He has played in 66 games this season, maintaining a field goal percentage of 51.2%.
