Update:

Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James has opened up on what it’s like to play alongside Luka Doncic, the newest high-profile edition to an already star-studded side.

James spoke of the trust between the two on the court, despite only having shared a limited amount of time together since the Slovenian’s controversial move from the Dallas Mavericks. In Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Luka Dončić led the Lakers with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists, while LeBron James added 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists. Their combined efforts were instrumental in securing a 94-85 victory over the Timberwolves.

“One thing about Luka,” James admitted to ESPN, “you got to be at the right spot at the right time or you got to make the connection, or he won’t pass you the ball like that. So, I think he trusts me.”

‘It’s easy, I know what he’s going to do’

As for how things work from Doncic’s point of view, he echoed LeBron’s confidence: “It’s easy,” Doncic told ESPN after the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. “I know what he’s going to do. He’s going to beat his defender and I just throw it up there. It’s not hard.”

And the head coach JJ Redick is clearly delighted with the relationship the two have when it comes to being in sync during games, saying “I think instantly you saw just the ability to feed off each other in transition, particularly with Luka as an outlet passer, LeBron running or getting down the court and creating an early cross match and getting that early seal. We saw that sort of right away.”
