Update:

The New York Knicks are back in the NBA Finals after a 27-year absence, following their dominant victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers to secure the Eastern Conference title. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and Co. will face either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs, who are currently tied 2-2 in the Western Conference Finals.

Although the Knicks don’t yet know their opponent, they do know when they will play in their first Finals since 1999, with the NBA announcing the schedule shortly after their latest win over Cleveland.

How to watch the 2026 NBA Finals

The entire series between the Knicks and either the Thunder or Spurs will be broadcast live on ABC.

Will extended rest benefit Knicks?

With Game 1 not taking place until June 3, the Knicks will have more than a week off to rest and prepare, which should ensure they head into the Finals fresh and raring to go.

That could give them an advantage over the Thunder or Spurs, whose Western Conference Finals series could run until May 30 if a deciding Game 7 is required.
