Stephen Curry decision made for Game 5
The star guard has been sidelined with a hamstring strain as Golden State struggles offensively in the Western Conference semifinals.

The Golden State Warriors are clinging to playoff hopes as they trail 3-1 in their Western Conference semifinal series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Dubs will once again be without Stephen Curry, their most influential player, after he was officially ruled out of Game 5 due to a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring. Curry suffered the injury in the series opener and, according to team updates, is not expected back for at least a week.

He was formally ruled out of Wednesday’s game, with the strain still bothering him and keeping him off the court. The Timberwolves, meanwhile, have won the last three matchups and are now just one win away from sealing a spot in the next round.
Golden State has struggled to find an offensive rhythm, topping 100 points in just one game so far in the series. While Jimmy Butler leads the team with an average of 21 points per game, he’s shooting just 44.1% from the field.
Jonathan Kuminga has also stepped up for the Warriors, averaging 19.5 points and three rebounds per game while converting 57.4% of his shots – a rare bright spot amid the team’s broader issues.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this week, NBA insider Shams Charania provided an update on Curry’s recovery: “Steph Curry has really only been doing treatment and will be reevaluated on Wednesday. From what I understand, he could return for Game 6 at the earliest.”
That projected return remains in place – if the Warriors manage to extend the series. Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, at Chase Center. Any setbacks in his recovery could further delay his return.
“It’s a hamstring strain – and we know that’s not something you can play through,” Charania added.
