Tatum breaks silence after Celtics collapse against Knicks
Cavaliers, Pacers, Knicks, Celtics, Nuggets, Thunder, Timberwolves and Warriors are playing for their lives in the Conference Semifinals.

The 2025 NBA playoffs are heating up as the Conference Semifinals continue. The Cleveland Cavaliers have steadied the ship and claimed their first win, cutting the Indiana Pacers’ series lead to 2-1 and keeping both teams’ chances alive.
In the East, the New York Knicks have taken charge of their matchup with the Boston Celtics, jumping out to a 2-0 lead with a real shot at going up 3-0.
Out West, the series between the Denver Nuggets and the Oklahoma City Thunder remains tight, while the Minnesota Timberwolves bounced back in Game 2 to level their series against the Golden State Warriors – who are struggling in the absence of Stephen Curry.

The Celtics now face a daunting task. Only four teams have come back to win a series after losing the first two games at home, out of 28 previous instances. Boston is desperate to avoid a dreaded 0-3 hole.
Jayson Tatum, the face of the franchise, finally spoke out about the team’s struggles and his own disappointing performances in the Conference Semifinals.
“I take full responsibility for how I’ve played in this series – there’s nothing to hide,” Tatum said. “I need to be better and I hope I will be.”

“I take full ownership on the way that I've played in this series. Can't sugar coat anything. I need to be better. And I expect to be a lot better.” pic.twitter.com/xBbkry8tgY
Tatum had delivered in the first-round series against the Orlando Magic, shooting 44.7% from the field, 36.4% from three-point range, and 90.2% from the line across five games. But things have taken a turn against the Knicks. Through the first two games, he’s shooting just 28.6% from the floor (12-of-42) and 25% from beyond the arc (5-of-20).
Going 3-0 is unthinkable, and would then require history to be made.
