In the Las Vegas semifinals, the Knicks beat the Magic and the Spurs pulled off a major upset by eliminating the Thunder, who had only lost once.
The third edition of the NBA Cup, originally launched as the In-Season Tournament, is set to conclude with its final following the semifinals in Las Vegas. This will be the last year the competition uses a Final Four format in a neutral city. From 2026 onwards, the team with the best record in the group stage will host the quarterfinals and semifinals, with only the championship game remaining in Las Vegas.
After the Lakers won the inaugural edition and the Bucks claimed the second, this year’s champion will be either the New York Knicks or the San Antonio Spurs. The final will mark a rematch of the 1999 NBA Finals, with the tournament favourite, the Oklahoma City Thunder, falling short once again. For the second consecutive year, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s team was eliminated in the semifinals, narrowly missing a place in the final.
