At long last, after what seemed like an eternal wait, Caitlin Clark turned up for the Fever and led her side to victory. The WNBA newbie was the star as the Fever beat the Los Angeles Sparks 73-78 at Crypto.com Arena.

The 22-year-old managed 11 points, 8 assists and 10 rebounds for her first WNBA double-double as she showed the record crowd that the wait for her to show her talent was well worth it.

“The first one feels really good,” said Clark after the game.

Fever fever is high:

A high-five for Clark from court-side Ashton Kutcher was enough to send the already record crowd wild, with the college basketball legend remarking afterwards that the actor is “a fellow Hawkeye” and “somebody that’s been very supportive of me over the course of my college career. He was encouraging me the whole game.”

“The crowd was absolutely amazing, especially there at the end,” she added. “They were into it, they were invested.”

Clark, who was 4 of 14 from the field, 2 of 9 on 3-point attempts, also admitted that she “was due” a game like this, “like they had to go in. I had missed so many throughout the game.”
