All eyes are set to be fixed on The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) for the the 2024 WNBA Draft on Monday, 15 April.
Expectation surrounding the 2024 WNBA Draft is sky-high since Caitlin Clark announced that her time with college team Iowa had come to an end upon the conclusion of the 2024 March Madness with the Des Moines born player set to move to the WNBA and the 22-year-old will no doubt be the centre of attention in Brooklyn on Monday evening.
Clark is the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer and is regarded as one of the greatest players in college basketball history and earlier in the month Clark was been named The Associated Press Player of the Year for the second year running.
The Indiana Fever have the top pick in the WNBA Draft on Monday and its anticipated that Clark will join last year’s unanimous Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston in an effort to revive the Fever, who have not had a successful season since 2015.
Clark will be joined by other high profile stars in the Draft such as: South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso and Tennessee forward Rickea Jackson. Cardoso, who won the national championship last week with South Carolina averaged 14.4 points and 9.7 rebounds for the Gamecocks and Tennessee forward Rickea Jackson who led the Volunteers in scoring (20.2 points) and rebounds (8.2).
LSU’s Angel Reese and Jacy Sheldon from Ohio State are other high profile names on the Draft with the second and third picks on the night going the way of Los Angeles Sparks and Chicago Sky.
When is the 2024 WNBA Draft?
The Draft gets underway on Monday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET/ 4:30 a.m. PT with live coverage available via ESPN and the ESPN App.
The 2024 Draft takes place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, New York. The show begins at 7 p.m. ET, but picks won’t start until 7:30.
