Will Andrew Wiggins play for the Warriors against the Rockets in the NBA Cup game today, Dec. 11?
Having advanced to the NBA Cup Quarterfinals, Golden State will play the Rockets in Houston.
The Rockets are 16-8 so far in the season, which gives an already enticing game an even tastier flavour, with just 2 wins separating them from their opponents tonight, the Golden State Warriors, who could well be ready to welcome back one of their main stars.
Andrew Wiggins has been managing a right ankle issue that kept him out of his team’s well-fought 114-106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday.
Although he is officially listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game against Houston, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr gave fans reason to smile when he shared a more encouraging update on the 2022 NBA All-Star.
Wiggins 'ready to go' for Rockets game
Kerr announced that every Warriors player, except Moses Moody, is available for the game against Houston.
Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN wrote that “Steve Kerr tells reporters in Houston that Moses Moody is out against Houston tomorrow. Everyone else is good to go.”
Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area went further, reporting that he expects Wiggins to play in the game, despite his status on the injury list: “From the sounds of it, Steve Kerr expects Andrew Wiggins to play”, he wrote on Twitter.
After some pestering from those pesky journalists, the coach opened up a little more on the news, saying “Andrew is ready to go,” Kerr said. “Had a full practice today, he looked good.”
Wiggins, who first had trouble with his ankle against the Phoenix Suns back on November 30, said he was “all right and that the injury ”is better than the other day“, which will fall on welcome ears in San Diego. Across 20 games this season, Wiggins has averaged 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.0 steals on 46/32/77 shooting.
