The Miami Hurricanes will face the Indiana Hoosiers in the College Football Playoff final, set to be played on January 19 at Hard Rock Stadium. It is worth noting that the Hurricanes will become the first team to contest a college football national championship game in their own stadium.

Miami Hurricanes Championship Game?

The Hurricanes reached the final after a 31–27 victory over Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl. By securing their place in the championship game, the team guaranteed a payout of $20 million.

Miami competes in the ACC, a conference that allows its members to keep 100% of the prize money they earn during the College Football Playoff – the only major conference with that policy. This rule means Miami will retain the full amount generated by its postseason run.

Each year, the College Football Playoff distributes more than $100 million in prize money to conferences based on postseason performance.

The breakdown is as follows: $4 million for each university that qualifies for the CFP, an additional $4 million for advancing to the quarterfinals, $6 million for reaching the semifinals, and another $6 million for advancing to the national championship game. Conferences then decide how those funds are allocated among their members.
