Update:

With the Steelers set to face the Bears in Week 12, Aaron Rodgers could be heading back to Chicago, a city where he is viewed as something of a villain after nearly two decades of tormenting the Bears as the Green Bay Packers quarterback.

The Packers and Bears share one of the NFL’s oldest and fiercest rivalries, with Green Bay leading the series 107, 95 and 6, due in large part to Rodgers. Since making his NFL debut in 2005, he has a 24-5 record against Chicago, which makes him the man Bears fans love to hate.

Seth Rollins wants Rodgers on the field

That includes WWE star Seth Rollins, who says he is desperate for Rodgers to be healthy for Sunday’s game so his beloved Bears can finally get one over on the veteran.

Appearing on Good Morning Football on Thursday, Rollins hinted that Rodgers is well past his sell-by date and expressed confidence the Bears will earn a rare win over the quarterback, who may be making his final appearance in Chicago.

I hope that his little wrist is okay, alright? I hope that he suits up this Sunday in Chicago. Because this is not the same Bears team that he has faced for years, and years, and years, and years in Chicago. And he’s not on the same team that he was in Green Bay,” Rollins said. “This Steelers team is not those Packers teams, and he is not the same Aaron Rodgers he’s always been. He’s on the backside of his career. So I hope he shows up in Chicago.”

Chicago still remembers “I own you” moment

Fans at Soldier Field still remember Rodgers yelling that he “owned” the Bears after scoring a touchdown in 2021. Rollins now wants to see the tables turn.

“We’re not gonna come out here next week having the same conversation about Aaron Rodgers owning the Chicago Bears,” Rollins said. “He’s going to be giving up his ownership, he’s going to be ceding that ownership to someone who deserves it. He doesn’t deserve it.”

Will Aaron Rodgers play for the Steelers against the Bears in Week 12?

The Steelers have not confirmed whether Rodgers will play in Chicago after he suffered a minor fracture to his left wrist in the Week 11 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, which he could not finish. He has taken part in limited practice this week while wearing a brace, and Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Gazette believes there is a “better than 50 percent” chance Rodgers lines up against his familiar foes on Sunday.

The Week 12 matchup between the Bears and Steelers will take place at Soldier Field on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. ET.
