The Washington Commanders stunned the Detroit Lions in the Divisional Round and now know their opponents for the NFC title game this Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs on Sunday, 28-22. It was a snowy battle between the No. 2 and No. 4 NFC teams at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, but the Eagles were able to pull ahead and take the victory to make it to their first NFC title game since their Super Bowl run in the 2022 season.
On Saturday, the Washington Commanders pulled off an unexpected victory over the Detroit Lions in their Divisional Round to advance to the NFC Championship game for the first time since 1991. They’ll now meet their NFC East foes Eagles this weekend to see who will advance to the Super Bowl.
The AFC title game will be between the Kansas City Chiefs, who beat the Houston Texans on Saturday, and either the Buffalo Bills or Baltimore Ravens, depending on which team wins tonight.
The NFC Championship game between the Commanders and Eagles will take place on Sunday, January 26 at 3 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field. You can follow along with AS USA’s live text coverage of the event. The winner of the game will earn their spot in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, February 9.
