Cowboys - Raiders odds and predictions: Who is the favorite in the NFL preseason game?
The Cowboys will head to Las Vegas to play their second preseason game against the Raiders this Saturday at Allegiant Stadium.
The Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders will play in their second preseason game this Saturday in Las Vegas.
Last week, Dallas played their first preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams, losing 13-12. They had quarterback Trey Lance in for the majority of the game and he went 25-of-41 for 188 yards and added 44 rushing yards on six carries.
The Raiders also happened to lose their first preseason game by just a point, a 24-23 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Quarterback Gardner Minshew went 6-of-12 for 117 yards and one touchdown.
Cowboys vs Raiders - who is the favorite?
The Cowboys will be looking to improve both on the ground and in the air. In their last preseason game against the Rams, the run game was led by Malik Davis, who had 8 carries for 18 yards, just 2.3 yards per rush. Jalen Brooks led the receiving side with two catches for 49 yards. Lance’s stats weren’t bad, but left a lot to be desired on the yardage front (just 4.6 yards per attempt) will need to be improved upon.
As for the Raiders, running back Sincere McCormick picked up 32 yards on 11 carries and tight end Tre Tucker led the receivers with 73 yards on two carries. Minshew threw for just 50% completions, but averaged 9.8 yards per attempt and managed to throw one touchdown with no interceptions. There’s a quarterback battle going on between him and Aidan O’Connell, who opened the game with an 83-yard drive for a field goal against the Vikings last week.
The Raiders are slight favorites in this preseason game, with home-field advantage and a slightly more convincing first preseason game. Here are the odds according to Vegas Insider.
The Raiders vs Cowboys will kick off at 7 p.m. ET from Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, August 17. You can follow all the live action with text commentary by yours truly right here on AS USA.
