Update:

Aaron Rodgers’ former Green Bay Packers team-mate, Jordan Love, is relishing the prospect of coming up against his fellow quarterback this season, after the veteran’s move to the Pittsburgh Steelers was officially confirmed.

Rodgers reunions on the cards

Rodgers is set to face both his former teams during the 2025 NFL regular season, having signed a one-year Steelers contract reportedly worth up to $19.5 million.

In Week 1, Rodgers is poised for a reunion with the New York Jets, the last team he played for. And in Week 8, one of the most anticipated matchups of the 41-year-old’s season will take place at Acrisure Stadium, when the Packers visit Pittsburgh.

In an interview with Jason Wilde of Channel 3000, Packers signal caller Love revealed that he’s “can’t wait” for the Sunday Night Football clash on October 26 - and hopes to exchange jerseys post-game.

“It’s going to be awesome”

It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be awesome,” Love said. “I’m excited for it - I can’t wait to be on different sides, meeting up, and I know we’ll talk pre-game, things like that. Hopefully, we can exchange jerseys after.”

The Packers selected Love in the first round of the 2020 Draft, with a view to grooming the Utah State star as Rodgers’ eventual successor.

Three seasons later, Rodgers ended his 18-season Green Bay career when he left for the Jets, paving the way for his young understudy to establish himself as the franchise QB for Wisconsin.

Can Rodgers emulate Brady and co.?

Thanks to the way the schedule is set up each year, the Steelers will face the entire NFC North in 2025, the division where Rodgers spent 20 years of his career, allowing him to achieve a milestone in the NFL.

If the Steelers beat the Packers, the four-time MVP will become the fifth quarterback to defeat all 32 teams in the NFL. The other four who have achieved this feat are Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Tom Brady and Drew Brees.
