Commanders vs Dolphins - game preview:
The Commanders and the Dolphins both arrive in Spain lying well outside the NFL’s 2025 playoff picture.
Now in their fourth season under coach Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins may have claimed a significant scalp by beating the Buffalo Bills in Week 10, but their 3-7 record leaves them facing a second straight year without playoff action.
Indeed, the NFL’s postseason predictor gives the Floridians just a 1% chance of recovering from their current position to sneak into the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Washington came into 2025 with high expectations, having reached the 2024 NFC Championship Game in their first year under Dan Quinn. However, the Commanders are also 3-7 - and find themselves on a five-game losing streak. According to the NFL’s predictor, they have a less-than-1% postseason chance.
To make matters worse, Washington lost its star quarterback, Jayden Daniels, to a nasty elbow injury in Week 9. It remains uncertain that the 24-year-old will be able to return before the end of the regular season.
