The 27-year-old has already built up an impressive resumé in his six seasons with the league. He led the Chiefs to five consecutive appearances at the AFC Championship game since the franchise named him starting quarterback.

He was hailed as 2018′s most valuable player by the league, and it is clear why he has been awarded the largest-ever contract in the history of the sport, one that amounts to almost half a billion dollars.
Mahomes has shown composure that doesn’t buckle under the pressure of the playoffs, even when it reaches its climax. Sunday’s matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles is his third Super Bowl appearance in four years.

He first led Kansas City to the championship game in the 2019 season, the team’s first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years. They proceeded to win against the San Francisco 49ers 31-20. Mahomes was honored as the match’s MVP.
