Impressive time and 40-yard run by Jaydon Blue at Texas Pro Day: “During the Combine, I was dealing with a little groin injury”
Texas Longhorns running back Jaydon Blue sent out a message to NFL scouts with a quick 40-yard dash during the Texas Pro Day.

Texas Longhorns running back Jaydon Blue impressed at the Texas Pro Day on Tuesday, clocking two sub-4.3-second times in the 40-yard dash.
Per ESPN’s Jordan Reid, the 21-year-old prospect ran 4.28 and 4.29 seconds during the pre-NFL Draft event at the Longhorns’ training facility.

Blue shared with us on @SECNetwork that he has upcoming visits scheduled with the Texans, Broncos, Eagles and Steelers.
Blue beats Combine time
Both times are significantly quicker than the 4.38 he registered in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, held at the Indianapolis Colts’ Lucas Oil Stadium just under a month ago.
That performance left Blue in 16th place overall at the Combine, albeit he was the second fastest running back, behind Bhayshul Tuten on 4.32.
Having outstripped his Combine time on Tuesday, Blue revealed that he had been “dealing with a little groin injury” in Indianapolis.
“It affected the way I ran”
“I found out that I ran with a small tear in my groin, so it kind of affected the way I ran,” he told reporters, per On Texas Football’s C.J. Vogel. “I couldn’t open up like I wanted to or push off.
“So for me to come out healthy and be able to showcase what I can really do out here - it was a good feeling.”

What is expected of Blue in NFL Draft?
Blue, who has registered 1,161 running yards and 11 touchdowns in his three seasons with the Longhorns, also told ESPN’s SEC Network that he has forthcoming visits scheduled with the Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Described by the NFL.com analyst Maurice Jones-Drew as “a talented playmaker who is super explosive and has good vision”, Blue is being tipped by Draft predictors as a day-two or day-three pick at next month’s event in Wisconsin.
While Jones-Drew points to Blue’s pass-catching ability as his “biggest asset”, the former NFL running back warns that the Longhorns player “need[s] time to develop”.
Blue must “get bigger and stronger” if he is to be a success in the NFL, Jones-Drew adds.
