Jaire Alexander surprises with his Ravens number... Why did he choose No. 23?
The Baltimore Ravens have added former Green Bay Packers cornerback Alexander to their roster on a one-year deal.

Cornerback Jaire Alexander has taken the No. 23 shirt at the Baltimore Ravens, after signing a one-year deal with the Maryland franchise.
Why did Alexander pick No. 23?
Alexander, who has agreed a Ravens pay deal worth a reported $6 million, has kept the same number he wore during his seven-year spell at the Green Bay Packers.
Jersey merry-go-round in Baltimore
In a statement on Monday, Baltimore revealed that the previous incumbent of the Ravens’ No. 23 jersey, linebacker Trenton Simpson, has swapped to No. 32.
In turn, cornerback Marquise Robinson has vacated the No. 32 shirt in favor of the No. 28 shirt, whose former owner, safety Beau Brade, will now sport No. 25 instead.
Brade’s new number had until now been worn by Chidobe Awuzie, who has switched to No. 3 for the 2025 season.
