Jaxson Dart isn’t the only Trump supporter in the NFL: These are some other players who support the president

Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart recently made headlines after introducing president Trump at a political rally, but he’s far from his only fan in the league.

Update:

Political expression in American sports has never been more visible. While second-year New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has recently drawn attention for his political leanings, he’s far from alone in the football world when it comes to support for Donald Trump.

From Hall of Fame legends to current stars, several NFL figures have publicly aligned themselves with Trump in recent years, often sparking strong reactions from fans across the political spectrum.

High-profile NFL players who have supported Donald Trump

Nick Bosa (DE, San Francisco 49ers)

One of the most visible current players linked to Trump support, Bosa made headlines in 2024 when he wore a “Make America Great Again” hat during a postgame interview.

His decision led to an NFL fine for violating uniform and equipment rules, but Bosa stood by the move, saying it was “well worth it.” His stance dates back to his college days and continues to follow him as one of the league’s top defensive players.

Harrison Butker (K, Kansas City Chiefs)

The Kansas City Chiefs kicker has been outspoken about his political and social beliefs, particularly around pro-life issues and that a woman’s greatest achievements are breeding and homemaking.

Butker has publicly supported Trump, framing his endorsement around shared values, especially on social policy, making him one of the more vocal active players in political discussions.

Antonio Brown (former WR)

Never far from controversy, Brown, who has faced lawsuits ranging from sexual assault to attempted murder, has been one of Trump’s most outspoken supporters among former players.

In 2024, he appeared at rallies and was even seen distributing pro-Trump merchandise to fans. His social media presence has also amplified his political views, often in blunt and provocative fashion.

Le’Veon Bell (former RB)

Once one of the league’s elite running backs, Bell has also entered the political spotlight. He joined Trump-related events alongside Brown and has publicly expressed support, drawing attention both from sports media and political commentators.

Lawrence Taylor (former LB)

A legend of the New York Giants, Taylor has become one of Trump’s most prominent supporters among former players.

He even spoke at a rally in 2024, declaring a major political shift in his personal views and offering a strong endorsement of Trump’s leadership.

Others linked to Trump support in NFL circles

Beyond those names, several other figures connected to the league have shown varying degrees of alignment:

  • Ottis Anderson - Former NFL running back and Super Bowl MVP who has appeared at Trump events.
  • Mike Wallace - Former NFL wide receiver, reportedly present at Trump rallies.
  • John Harbaugh - While not explicitly endorsing Trump, the New York Giants head coach recently responded to a public endorsement from the president, generating fan debate.

The relationship between the NFL and Donald Trump has been complicated for years. During his first presidency, Trump was highly critical of player protests during the national anthem, especially those associated with Colin Kaepernick.

That history still shapes how fans interpret any political stance from players today. Support for Trump, in particular, tends to generate strong reactions on both sides. Supporters praise players for speaking openly, while critics argue politics should stay out of sports.

Jaxson Dart may be the latest name linked to pro-Trump sentiment in football circles, but he’s part of a much larger pattern within the NFL and its extended community. From stars like Nick Bosa to legends like Lawrence Taylor, political expression remains a polarizing force in the league. And as long as athletes continue to speak out, the intersection of football and politics isn’t going anywhere.
