Justin Jefferson knows who he wants to be Vikings QB of the future
Minnesota Vikings star WR Justin Jefferson is in the midst of a career low year but he says he backs the franchises young QB to turn things around.

Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl wide receiver Justin Jefferson is in the midst of his least productive season since coming to the NFL back in 2020. Despite the dip in numbers, the former LSU Tiger has showed his confidence is the Vikings 10th overall pick from the 2024 NFL Draft.
Vikings gamble on McCarthy
It’s been a steep fall from grace for the Minnesota Vikings this season. They were in the running for the one seed in the NFC until the last week of the season. They went 14-3 and for the first time in quite a while the Vikings were relevant in the contender conversation.

That of course was with Sam Darnold under center as the former first round pick had a renaissance year with the Vikings. All things pointed to McCarthy being the QB1 to start his rookie year, but a torn ACL suffered in the preseason kept him on the sidelines for the entirety of his rookie campaign.
The Vikings bet on their young QB to come back from a serious knee injury and let Sam Darnold go in the free agent market. Darnold would go to Seattle and put together another fantastic year while the Vikings are hanging around .500 and have no shot of the playoffs heading into the final week of the season.
JJ backs his QB1
Justin Jefferson has admitted that it’s been a frustrating year after seeing his team go from being in the Super Bowl conversation to being eliminated with four weeks to go in the season. “I had to learn myself how to be patient how to not really show my emotions, to lead as a captain of this team,” Jefferson said. “And there are definitely things I can take from this year going forward. But I would say going forward, requiring more for everybody. Having this type of season, we ain’t trying to have this type of season again.”

McCarthy has not only struggled on the field, but he has struggled to stay on the field in his first year as the Vikings QB. He played in nine of the Vikings 17 games, throwing fo 1,450 yards, 11 TDs and 12 INTs.
Despite a frustrating start to his era in Minnesota, the star and leader of the team says has McCarthy’s back. “Of course I would love for him to be here. Of course I would love for him to be the quarterback. Especially off this year. I feel like he needs to show everybody and prove to everybody that he is that top-tier quarterback. So I would love to have him. I would love to work with him and show everybody that he is that No. 1 guy.”
