Super Bowl LIX
Kendrick Lamar’s shock Super Bowl decision might help move unsold tour tickets
The Compton rapper has revealed who will support him during the Super Bowl halftime show.

As Kendrick often does, it came without warning. But that’s not to say that there were no rumours. The NFL, Roc Nation, and kendrick himself have all revealed that the Compton rapper will be joined on stage by a special guest during the Super Bowl LIX halftime show, set for February 10 2025.
It’s been a sensational 12 months for Lamar, who cemented his status at the top of the rap game with a unanimous win over Drake in their much-publicised battle that took place across 2024, leaving us with songs such as Euphoria and Not Like Us. Oh, and Meet the Grahams, but that’s an obituary rather than a rap record.
SZA to join Kendrick Lamar at Super Bowl LIX
The awarding of the Super Bowl honours to K-Dot was the icing on the cake, the crowning moment for the man who has always been in the discussion about being ‘the greatest’ but who can now firmly claim the throne to be his.
But on the night of the Super Bowl, he will have to share the stage. No, he will have the honour of sharing the stage, as SZA will also be performing alongside Kendrick.
The 35-year-old from Missouri was a huge part of Lamar’s latest release, GNX, a 12-track victory lap celebrating a sensational year. The duo are becoming a formidable force in hip-hop, and they will also embark on a tour of the United States, although it must be said that the reaction to his ‘Grand National Tour’ has not been positive.
Hugely inflated ‘dynamic’ prices have kept fans' hands in their pockets and rightly so: seeing even the top artists in the world should be accessible to as many people as possible and paying upwards of $300 for a seat in the top tier of an NFL stadium? It seems the fans have voted with their feet.
Whether or not the decision to bring SZA along to the Super Bowl and sell tickets works or not, we’re going to get a sneak peak and what those who have paid will see as K-Dot embarks on his well-deserved victory lap of the country. And come the Super Bowl itself, eyes will be peeled for a certain Canadian in the stands...
