He may have flirted with the Big Apple, but in the end, it was the Big Easy that managed to grab Derek Carr’s services. The former Pro Bowl quarterback will hopefully bring some stability to a franchise that has struggled to replace Drew Brees at the position.

While the details are sparse and it has not been confirmed by the team, the deal seems all but done when Derek Carr tweeted “Who Dat” late Monday morning. He also took to Instagram to say “I will miss all of you Raiders fans also. Thank you for an amazing 9 years.

He leaves Las Vegas as the Raiders’ all-time passing leader, and was selected to the Pro Bowl four times in his nine-year stint with the franchise.

After having one of the best seasons of his career in 2021 where he completed 68% of his passes thrown for 4800 yards, Carr was benched for most of 2022 after throwing 14 interceptions in 15 starts. The coaching staff lost faith in him and Carr started looking to leave.

The Saints’ offense brings a sting in its tail with five-time Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara, but the offensive line is in desperate need of upgrades after being one of the league’s worst units last season.
