Peyton Manning recalls hilarious story about working out with Tom Brady in 2009: “It was a fascinating two days for me”

Last year, during Tom Brady’s induction into the New England Patriots’ Hall of Fame, another legendary NFL quarterback told a hilarious story about the two. Peyton Manning was a surprise guest speaker at the event at Gillette Stadium, and the video of him telling the story has resurfaced online again ahead of the start of the 2025 NFL season.

Manning said that he and Brady had met a few times before during offseasons, but became closer when they decided to have a workout together during the 2009 offseason in Tennessee, calling it a “fascinating two days”.

“I said, ‘Tom, let’s get together, go under the radar, don’t tell anybody we’re coming in.’ Tom flies in on Mr. Kraft’s plane,” Manning said to a roar of laughter from the crowd.

“We lifted weights together. We threw together with these high school receivers. We took their phones away,” Peyton recalled. “We said, ‘If you tell anybody that Tom Brady and I are working out together, and that we’re friends, we’re going to kill all of you.’”
