The old joke by Caleb Williams about Ben Johnson that resurfaced after he became the new Bears head coach: “He’s the worst”
An old Caleb Williams line about Johnson has been found by fans, right after the team hired him as their new coach.

The Chicago Bears were top of the sports news headlines on Monday after it was confirmed that they had moved to secure in-demand Ben Johnson as their new head coach, following the sacking of Matt Eberflus.
A truly shambolic season from the Chicago side forced the executives into a decision, with Eberflus getting the boot after leading the side to a 5-12 record and a last place finish in the NFC North.
Their star player, Caleb Williams, will be looking to find form again under Johnson, but there may well be a few awkward side-eye looks in the first meetings and training sessions. The situation has its roots in an old joke made by Williams regarding Ben Johnson, one fans were quick to dig up after the deal was penned by the former Miami and Detroit coach.
Williams 'gonna talk so much trash' about Johnson
During the Bears’ interview process, rookie quarterback Williams shared his thoughts on the qualities he’d want in a head coach while speaking with Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown on the St. Brown Podcast.
Williams made it clear he would prefer an offensive-minded coach like Johnson to collaborate with, even joking that he’d call Williams “the worst” in an attempt to keep prying eyes away from the 38-year-old.
“I’m gonna talk so much trash about him, and then go back to our [team] and be like ‘pay this man some more money’ so he can stay, that’s what I’d do!”
“And then just a dude that’s got a fire to him, I’ve got a certain fire inside of me that certain people can’t coach or it doesn’t work, so that’s a big part of it. If it’s Ben, then... if it’s not, then it is what it is.”
