The Patrick Mahomes-Josh Allen prediction that came true: “We’ll do it again, baby”
The Buffalo Bills visit the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game this weekend, in a matchup forecast by the teams' quarterbacks.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills meet in the AFC Championship Game this weekend, in a heavyweight postseason matchup that their star quarterbacks appear to have been preparing for long before it was confirmed.
Can Allen and the Bills end their Chiefs playoffs hoodoo?
At Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, the Chiefs host the Bills in a rematch of the 2020 AFC title game, as Kansas City continues its bid to become the first NFL team in history to win three straight Super Bowls.
The Bills, meanwhile, are chasing a maiden Super Bowl title, and the franchise’s first appearance in the NFL championship game since 1993.
But if the Bills are to end their three-decade wait for a return to the Super Bowl, they must halt a growing run of postseason losses to the Chiefs.
Led by quarterback Josh Allen, a three-time Pro Bowler, the Bills have reached the postseason for six straight years - but have been eliminated by Kansas City three times in that period. On top of defeat to the Chiefs in the AFC title decider four years ago, Buffalo has endured Divisional round exits at the hands of the Missourians in 2021 and 2023.
The Bills have not beaten the Chiefs in the postseason since a 30-13 victory in the AFC Championship Game 31 years ago.
“See you guys soon”
Sunday’s game in Missouri will be the second time the Bills and the Chiefs have faced off this season: in Week 11 on November 17, Buffalo claimed a 30-21 win at Highmark Stadium, to continue a positive sequence of results against Andy Reid’s men outside of playoff football. The victory was the Bills' fourth in a row in regular-season meetings with Kansas City, stretching back to October 2021.
At the end of the game in Orchard Park, Allen and his Chiefs opposite number, the two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, approached each other for an on-field chat - one in which they both seemed to express their expectation that their paths would cross again once the playoffs arrived.
“See you guys soon,” Allen could be heard saying to Mahomes, in footage shared on social media by the NFL. “We’ll do it again, baby,” the latter replied.
