The romantic post-game tradition of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift revealed by a Chiefs cheerleader
A former Chiefs fan posted a TikTok with insider info about what it was like to have Swift at the games, and revealed a cute tidbit on she and Kelce.
It’s been two full football seasons now that we’ve gotten used to seeing pop sensation Taylor Swift attend the Kansas City Chiefs games to watch her boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce, play. Especially at the beginning, there were mixed reactions to her presence as some fans saw it as a distraction, especially considering how often the cameras would show her.
If you think it’s distracting as an NFL fan, imagine how those trying to actually work down on the field must feel. The players don’t seem to have lost their focus, as they are currently making a run for their third straight Super Bowl. But one former Chiefs cheerleader admitted that she found it quite difficult to focus when Swift was up there in the suite watching.
Former Chiefs cheerleader reveals Swift and Kelce
Stefanie Hills, who cheered for the Chiefs until 2023, posted a TikTok back in September which is now going viral again after Swift attended the Chiefs' AFC Divisional game against the Houston Texans last weekend.
In the video, Hills revealed that Taylor Swift would always wait for Travis Kelce outside of the locker room at Arrowhead Stadium when the game was over. This is sweet, but it also offered the cheerleaders a chance to actually meet Swift.
Hills admitted that she was never a Swiftie, but in her post, she says she is slowly becoming one. And although she had a few “complaints” (ticket prices increasing, camera time taking away from fans and cheerleaders), she enjoyed the experience of having Swift at the games. At one point, she and the other cheerleaders decided to wait by the locker room after the game to try to get a photo with Swift.
“All those pictures of her game-day outfits walking down [the] red tunnels at Arrowhead are right next to the players’ locker room, which is right next door to the Chiefs cheer locker room, and there were so many close encounters,” Hills said.
She also talked about how exciting it was to see Swift cheering for the Chiefs cheerleaders at one point.
“We performed my choreography in the end zone. I looked up, and no joke, she was on the screen and she was clapping,” Hills said. “And I was like, ‘She just watched our team dance and is now applauding and she liked my choreography.’”
During the Chiefs' victory over the Texans on Saturday, Kelce played an incredible game. There has been a lot of talk about his performance declining this season and when the 35-year-old might retire, but he’s proven time and again that age is just a number.
A reporter asked Kelce after the game if his performance on the field made him feel younger and his response was, “22, baby!” - an ode to Swift’s song of the same name.
