Tyreek Hill becomes latest casualty on ever growing NFL 2025 season injury list
After just four matchdays, the 2025 NFL season is taking its toll with fourteen big name players suffering serious injuries.

One major negative of the 2025 NFL season to date is the number of serious injuries being suffered. Only four match days have been played in the new season and already teams are seeing key players ruled out for lengthy periods or in many cases for the entire season.

Tyreek Hill is the latest high profile player to suffer after the 31-year-old after an apparent dislocated knee. The player was taken from the field as the Miami Dolphins faced the New York Jets. Early reports suggest that the wide receiver’s season is over and the Georgia native joins an ever growing list of NFL stars who face lengthy layoffs due to match sustained injuries.

Joe Burrow
- The Bengals quarterback suffered a severe turf toe injury (grade 3) to his left foot during the second week of the season, requiring surgery shortly after. His recovery is estimated to take at least three months, which would keep him out of action for much of the regular season.

Najee Harris

Nick Bosa
- The 49ers defensive end concluded his season after a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee was revealed. The injury occurred during a game against the Cardinals, and the club confirmed he will undergo surgery to recover.

James Conner

Hoping to make a return soon
Joe Mixon
- The Houston Texans’ new running back injured his ankle during the preseason. He has not returned yet, but is expected to do so within the next three weeks.

Khalil Mack
- Chargers linebacker Khalil Mack was placed on injured reserve with an elbow injury this season and is expected to make a return in the next few weeks although a definitive expected return date has not yet been communicated.

CeeDee Lamb
- Lamb has been hampered by a sprained ankle suffered against the Bears, which will prevent him from participating in upcoming games.

Mike Evans
- The veteran Tampa Bay receiver injured his hamstring during a game against the Jets. Medical estimates indicate he could miss two to four weeks, depending on his progress and the severity of the sprain.

Lamar Jackson
- Baltimore’s star quarterback is also facing a setback. He strained his hamstring during Week 4’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, forcing him to leave the game in the third quarter. The exact extent of the damage is still being determined, and his status for the upcoming games is uncertain.

George Kittle
- The San Francisco tight end suffered a hamstring injury during the season-opening game against the Seahawks, forcing him to leave the field in the second quarter. The 49ers have placed him on injured reserve, with the expectation that he could return for Week 6.
