Hands down the hottest property in the NFL is not a quarterback or a receiver, but wizard play caller Sean Payton, and he is close to landing back on the sidelines next year

Sean Payton has been the biggest rumor-generator in the NFL for some time now. All of the focus has been on two questions:

  1. Where will he end up?
  2. How much will the Saints charge for his services?

It looks like question one is closing in on an answer, after multiple reports came out on Tuesday that the Denver Broncos had reached an agreement with both Payton and the Saints to sign the effervescent football architect.

No confirmation has come forth from any party yet, and naturally that means that there are no details known as to just how much the Broncos will have to pay for the privilege of utilizing Payton’s services, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Saints will receive a 2023 first-round pick and a 2024 second-round pick from the Broncos in exchange for the playmaker-in-chief and a 2024 third-round pick.

Denver is in dire need of a rebuild after the terrible season that they have just had. They had hoped to revitalize their offense and traded the franchise’s future away for Russel Wilson, and now it seems that they are going to double down on that move by giving away the kitchen sink to get their program back on track.

With Payton on board, all of the pieces are now in place for a strong run at the playoffs from the Broncos. Mile High stadium should be feeling a mile high right now.
