What’s the weather forecast for the Rams - Bears game in Chicago? Fans are asked to prepare for blizzard-like conditions
Chicago’s brutal winter could shape the Rams vs. Bears matchup, with snow, wind and near-zero wind chills forecast.

Heading into this weekend’s Divisional Round, the Los Angeles Rams are ranked as second favorites to win Super Bowl LX by most bookmakers. But that confidence may not fully account for one inconvenient detail: Matthew Stafford and Co. must travel to Chicago in peak “Bear Weather” this weekend.
Forecast for Rams-Bears in Divisional Round
Just how bad will it be at Soldier Field?
The latest forecast for Chicago suggests a temperature of around 20 degrees Fahrenheit at kickoff on Sunday. If that sounds cold, the wind chill is expected to make it feel closer to 0 degrees, according to AccuWeather. Snow is forecast shortly before kickoff, with flurries predicted to continue as the game gets underway.

Winds of 17 mph, with gusts up to 21 mph, could cause havoc for Stafford and Bears quarterback Caleb Williams as they try to pick out receivers downfield.
From sunny LA to frozen Chicago
The Rams are, of course, far more accustomed to playing in the comparatively tropical conditions of Los Angeles. Head coach Sean McVay has said his team is “not going to waste energy” thinking about the weather, although wide receiver Davante Adams may have missed that particular team talk based on his comments earlier this week.
Bears issue cold-weather warning for fans
Either way, the Bears are doing their utmost to ensure fans heading to Soldier Field suffer as little as possible.
In a weather and safety update posted to the Bears’ website on Friday, the franchise shared the following information to help fans prepare for the elements.
“To help fans stay warm and safe throughout the game:
- Warming centers will be located at Loop Landing behind Section 146, on the service level down the southwest tunnel near the Dr Pepper Patio, on the northwest colonnade near Gate 31, and on the south side of the colonnades.
- Battery-operated clothing is permitted and may be subject to additional security screening.
- Fans may NOT bring cardboard to sit or stand on.
- Cold-weather dehydration is possible, and fans are encouraged to drink water throughout the game.
- Hot chocolate and coffee will be available throughout the stadium and via in-seat vendors, with chili offered at select stands.
- Hand warmers will be available for purchase at any Bears Pro Shop location inside the stadium.
- Blankets are permitted for Chicago Bears games at Soldier Field and may be carried by hand or in an approved clear bag that meets stadium guidelines.
Tailgating rules in extreme conditions
With cold weather in the forecast, fans are reminded of the following Soldier Field tailgating policies:
- Grills and heaters using liquefied fuels are prohibited in enclosed parking garages and the lower level of the Waldron Deck, but are allowed in open-air surface lots.
- Fire pits and open fires are NOT allowed in any parking lots.
- Deep fryers or any oil-based cooking or frying are prohibited.
- Tents and canopies are prohibited.
- No open flame, infrared panel or propane heaters of any type are allowed in any lot.
