The American players will play in the US Open on Day 1. Check when they are playing and who they are facing in the first round.

All is set and ready in New York for the 143rd edition of the US Open, where 128 players in the men’s and the women’s category will be looking to get to the final and lift the trophy.

Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, and Tommy Paul are the main hopes for the Americans to do something big in New York this year. Meanwhile, Cori Gauff is probably having her best moment as a professional after winning in Washington and Cincinnati this month.

Daniele Collins and Jessica Pegula are the other two US representatives who are expected to do well in the tournament, with Pegula winning her third career title and second WTA 1000 trophy in her career after defeating Liudmila Samsonova 6-1, 6-0 in the final of the Omnium Banque Nationale, Montréal.

US Open: Who’s playing today?

Many eyes will be on the favorites in the first round of the US Open. Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev & co. will be the main attraction in their games, while Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, or Elena Rybakina will also be among the most followed tennis players in the women’s category.

But since the event takes place in the US, the American players will have the home crowd support, and many fans will be attending their games or watching them from home.

Frances Tiafoe will be playing against fellow countryman Learner Tien from 12 p.m. ET at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, a match that the Maryland native is expected to win.

Meanwhile, another US clash will take place in the US Open, with Taylor Fritz taking on Steve Johnson. The game is expected to begin at 11 a.m. approximately at Louis Armstrong Stadium, with Fritz being the favorite to come out on top.

In the women’s section, Cori Gauff, seen as one of the favorites to win her first Grand Slam tournament in NY, will make her debut against Laura Siegemund at 7 p.m. at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Danielle Collins will face rising star Linda Fruhvirtova from 11 a.m. at the Grandstand. A tricky game where the American’s experience and the crowd’s support should take her to the next round, but the young Czech player might make things close.
