Brandon Moreno on UFC at the White House: “I’m not interested”
‘The Assassin Baby’ reacted angrily when questioned about whether he would participate in the showcase that will take place in Washington, D.C.

The UFC is gearing up for a special event at the White House after President Donald Trump personally asked Dana White to bring an MMA card to Washington, D.C. And while plenty of fighters are eager to be part of such a high‑profile showcase, Brandon Moreno isn’t one of them. In fact, he wants nothing to do with it.
During UFC Media Day in Mexico City, The Assassin Baby was asked whether he’d like to join the historic card. Moreno didn’t hesitate—and he didn’t sugarcoat it. With a visibly annoyed expression, he shut the door on the idea:
“I’m not interested. Thank you.”

Focused on fight night in Mexico City
Moreno is locked in on his upcoming Fight Night bout this weekend at Arena Ciudad de México. After his original opponent was changed, he explained that the switch didn’t shake his preparation:
“UFC made it clear they’d get me another opponent. There wasn’t much uncertainty. We’ve already spent a month training in Las Vegas, brought in coaches, set up logistics—never crossed our minds to pull out.”
His new opponent is Lone’er Kavanagh, a rising prospect with a 9–1 record. Moreno isn’t underestimating him:
“The name doesn’t mean anything, but he’s dangerous. He’s young, hungry, the underdog, and he’ll want to make a statement. That makes him very dangerous. But I trust my camp—you never know what can happen.”
Staying active is the priority
Moreno just fought in December and is already back in the Octagon in February, but he insists he’s not feeling worn down. If anything, he feels sharper than ever:
“I’m grateful. I feel great. My goal is to stay active. I don’t see myself fighting at 37 or 38. Right now I’m focused, and this camp was incredible.”
Happy to see Cain Velasquez back home
Before wrapping up, Moreno expressed happiness for former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, who is now back with his family after his legal ordeal: “I’m glad he’s home with his family. I’m really happy for him.”
