How much prize money did Jon Rahm get for winning LIV Golf UK? Spaniard’s first ever LIV victory
The Spanish golfer has lined his pockets further after winning the individual and team competitions on the breakaway Saudi-backed tour.
The LIV Golf UK competition is where Jon Rahm’s streak of more than a year without winning a tournament comes to an end. A mistake by his teammate, Hatton, on the final hole gave him the victory. It is the fourth title for the Legion XIII team in the 2024 season.
Rahm’s millions as first LIV win arrives in England
In the United Kingdom event, which took place at the JCB Golf & Country Club, near Uttoxeter, in the middle of England, the Basque golfer emerged at the top with a total score of -14, securing a title that will also earn him $4 million.
And the money for the man from Barrika doesn’t stop there. His club, Legion XIII, won in the team category, pocketing $750,000 per head. A total of $3 million per team as the winner, shared among team members Tyrell Hatton, Caleb Surratt, Kieran Vincent, and Rahm himself.
That means that Rahm will earn a tidy total of $4,750,000 just for winning this tournament. Astronomical amounts that he was assured of when he signed a contract that made him the highest-paid golfer in the world, with over $200 million already guaranteed by the contract. Next up for Rahm, the 2024 Paris Olympics.
